The Perfect Alternative To Traditional Braces

Straighten Your Teeth Without The Drawbacks Of Traditional Braces

It’s no secret that straight, well-aligned teeth are an essential part of a great smile. Unfortunately, the inconvenience and discomfort associated with traditional metal braces keep some of our patients from wanting to straighten their teeth. Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, include no metal, and are custom-made for your unique teeth.

How Holmes & Palmer Orthodontics Can Help

For those patients that do not want traditional braces, Dr. Holmes & Dr. Palmer recommend Invisalign. Invisalign is a modern approach to teeth straightening without many of the drawbacks of braces. The clear plastic aligners are nearly invisible, allowing you to confidently show off your smile while straightening your teeth.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign uses a series of soft plastic aligners that are virtually invisible and fit comfortably over your teeth to slowly and carefully correct your smile. They work in a series of trays that are changed every two weeks that gradually shift your teeth into their ideal positions.

Why Choose Invisalign For Teens?

Does your teenager need orthodontic treatment but dread spending their high school years as a “brace face”? They already have enough on their plate without having to feel anxiety over their smiles, which is why Invisalign is the perfect treatment option. With Invisalign, they can get the beautiful, healthy aligned smile they deserve without brackets and wires.

What Are The Advantages Of Invisalign Teen?

Apart from stealthily correcting smiles, Invisalign has several benefits over traditional braces. Because they are removable, there are no prohibited foods! Your teenager will undoubtedly be free to enjoy all their favorite treats without worrying about compromising their orthodontic treatment.

They can also brush and floss normally instead of having to clean around all that hardware.

As an added advantage for parents, each Invisalign Teenager aligner has a blue indicator that fades gradually if your teen is wearing them as directed. So you can make sure they’re staying on track with their treatment!

Invisalign is an orthodontic solution for individuals with teeth crowding or other dental alignment issues who want a different approach to the standard brackets and wires.

Each treatment time varies from 12 to 18 months. Still, the length of your treatment will depend on the complexity of the alignment problems being corrected and the patient’s diligence in wearing their aligners as directed. Some patients can complete their treatment in as little as six months.

As long as you wear your aligners, you’ll start seeing results in a matter of weeks. So, make sure you’re wearing yours!

No, it does not hurt. Although the first few days of each stage of your Invisalign treatment, you may feel minor discomfort and soreness as your teeth get used to the extra pressure. This sensitivity is perfectly normal and a really good sign that the aligners are doing their job.

In the beginning, most patients experience a very slight lisp that disappears within a couple of days. The best thing to do is to wear the aligners while talking to adjust your speech more quickly.

It is essential to clean your Invisalign trays each time you brush your teeth. It only takes a couple of minutes each time by utilizing the following approaches:

  • Immersing aligners in denture or retainer cleaning solution
  • Gently brushing aligners with toothpaste
  • Soaking in Invisalign cleansing crystals

It is good to rinse the aligners every time you take them out to reduce bacteria buildup. Please avoid running them under hot water, as extreme temperatures can warp the plastic.

Invisalign is an excellent choice for your orthodontic treatment. It is a trusted brand in invisible aligners, and you’ll love the freedom of being able to take your aligners out to eat and brush your teeth. You can even view your virtual treatment plan before beginning to see what your smile will look like at the end!

Aligners need to be worn at all times during your treatment. The only exception to remove them is during meals and while brushing and flossing your teeth. Wearing them less often will delay your results.

One of the best advantages of the Invisalign system over traditional wire braces is that there is no banned foods list! As long as you are brushing and flossing before putting your aligners back in, you can enjoy all your favorite foods without compromising your orthodontic treatment!

Gum will stick to your aligners, so it’s not a very good idea to chew it while wearing them. Take your aligners out for all meals and snacks, including the sweet stuff.

We discourage all smoking.  Smoking should especially be avoided during Invisalign treatment, as it can stain and discolor the aligners, as well as putting you at risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

Retainers are necessary at the end of any orthodontic treatment, whether you’re using Invisalign or traditional wire braces because it takes time for teeth to get used to their new positions. Make sure to wear your retainers as directed by Drs. Holmes & Palmer.
